Hardball's Chris Matthews trying to downplay Abramoff scandal: It's not about Republicans, really

Yeah, the Republicans don't have an ethics problem. Sure, Abramoff is Republican, Delay is Republican, Frist is Republican, and Scanlon and that guy from GSA and Scooter and Karl and all the rest. But really, this isn't a partisan scandal because, uh, because if the media were call it one then Republicans might threaten to stop coming on their shows. And the shows matter more than the substance in this town.
