Did you hear the one about Bush being "concerned" about the high cost of gas?

Clearly this is some kind of sick joke. Bush has told some whoppers over the past few years. But, for us to believe he's got our backs on gas prices is just too much to swallow:

President George W. Bush said on Tuesday he is "concerned" about high gasoline prices, and pledged that the government will keep a close watch out for profiteering.

"I'm concerned about higher gasoline prices," Bush said. "The government has the responsibility to make sure that we watch very carefully and investigate possible price-gouging, and we will do just that."
Translation: I could care less about skyrocketing gas prices. And an investigation of high prices -- that will NEVER happen.
