Okay, let me get this straight. Because Bush and Putin are such close friends, Bush is going to tell Putin "in private" that he's worried about the Russian leader's anti-democratic policies. But, the White House National Securit Adviser Steven Hadley publicly announced that Bush would have this private conversation. That doesn't seem like very smart diplomacy...but nothing Bush does is smart diplomacy. According to NBC this morning, Putin's approval rating is 70%, that's twice as high as Bush's approval.
I'm sure our President will make us proud at the G-8.
