McCain, who missed critical vote on GI bill that he and Bush oppose, attacked Obama, who supports the troops and did vote

Okay, this is a good one.

John McCain couldn't be bothered to show up today for the vote on the GI bill. He's too busy fundraising for his campaign.

Obama did vote and gave a very impassioned speech in support of the troops. Here's an excerpt of the text provided to us:

I respect senator John Mccain's service to our country. He is one of those heroes of which I speak. But I can't understand why he would line up behind the president in opposition to this G.I. bill. I can't believe why he believes it is too generous to our veterans. I could not disagree with him and the president more on this issue. There are many issues that lend themselves to partisan posturing, but giving our veterans the chance to go to college should not be one of them. I'm proud that so many Democrats and Republicans have come together to support this.
Now, remember, McCain wasn't there. But, in a move that is the height of sheer gall, McCain attacked Obama's floor speech from California. Marc Ambinder called the response "acidic."

Also, remember, McCain stands with Bush in opposing Senator Webb's G.I. bill.

Seems that if John McCain is so worried, he should have shown up instead of sending bitchy press releases from his campaign. McCain is a lot of talk these days. And, the talk sounds an awful lot like Bush.
