It was expected, but this fast? When people say oil trading is one of the most unregulated markets out there, they're not kidding. It's the Wild West out there and anything goes right now.
Then again, McCain believes that regulation is at the heart of our problems in business. We just have too much of it, so he says. And who can forget the recent GOP plan to slash taxes for Big Oil just before losing the 2006 elections? The other brilliant moment was when the GOP wanted to just forget about the billions in taxes owed by Big Oil from drilling on federal property. Funny how the Republicans have such short memories, forgetting all of their classic ideas for how to make life even easier for the oil companies who just stick it to the public every chance they get.
