It's election season, so you know what that means: RED ALERT!

ABC News breathlessly reports that we are entering a period of heightened alert for terrorist attacks. Uh huh. I'm sensing a period of heightened alert for patriotism attacks. The sad part is that the Republicans have so gamed the system that I just don't believe them anymore. And I suspect, and fear, that many Americans join my skepticism. Not a great way to run a country and keep it safe. It really is time to clean house.
