Looks like Bush & Paulson have done a pretty poor job of explaining to America why we need this and how it's going to help everyone outside of Wall Street. The problem is that the US has already been bamboozled by Bush with his WMD claims so the nation thinks he's a liar and he is. Maybe instead of implementing a Rove plan of lying for political points wasn't such a good idea after all. That's precisely why the poll numbers on this issue are so bad.
Americans can rally for a good cause, but not after the lies of Iraq and then the lies of a strong economy. This time, the American public wants more and a fair shake. Tax cuts for the wealthy during a supposed time of war showed us how Bush lacked all seriousness just as welfare for Wall Street sounds ridiculous as we look at the financial burden and the financial payouts to crooks.
