Christmas has officially been canceled

I can deal with concerns about having big political convention parties during a national disaster like a hurricane, but the suggestion that we should cancel Christmas parties in Washington because the economy is all f-d up, well, that kind of bothers me. Let's stop the silly season antics, as Obama calls them. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and it's okay to have Christmas parties at Christmas, even when you have no money - that's kind of the point.
