Gavin Newsom dropped out of CA Governor's race today

This is a surprise. Robert Cruickshank at Calitics has the email from Newsom and some of the reasons. According to the California political punditry, lack of money was the biggest issue. This development leaves Attorney General (and former Governor) Jerry Brown as the only Democrat in the race, for now anyway.
